DEFENDER EMPOWERS RUGBY FANS TO EMBRACE THE IMPOSSIBLE
As Official Vehicle of the Wallabies and with Rugby World Cup 2023 just around the corner, Defender has been celebrating rugby by inspiring fans to Embrace the Impossible. From offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences at Rugby World Cup France 2023, through to supporting grassroots rugby players, Defender is a passionate supporter of rugby at all levels.
During July, lucky entrants were chosen to take to the field during half-time at Wallabies matches in Sydney and Melbourne, as they attempted an ‘impossible catch’ kicked by ex-Wallabies legends. The entrant who successfully caught the most balls was rewarded with two tickets to the first pool match at Rugby World Cup 2023, including return airfares to Paris, two nights’ luxury accommodation, and $2,000 spending money.
The Sydney and Melbourne crowds watched in suspense as legends of the game, Adam Ashley Cooper and Matt Giteau respectively, delivered the powerful kicks that would make or break the dreams of some very excited rugby fanatics. A hearty congratulations to the deserving winners who will be making the pilgrimage to Rugby World Cup 2023.
DEFENDERS OF TOMORROW
The Defenders of Tomorrow program recognises the positive impact young people have on their communities to build a better future. Congratulations to Louis Hayward and Jesse Sharma who were both selected as Defenders of Tomorrow.
Representing Defender as local mascots, Louis and Jesse proudly delivered the official match balls at the home test matches in Sydney and Melbourne respectively. Louis was nominated for his commitment to his local community as a volunteer lifesaver at Broulee Surfers Life Saving Club. Jesse was nominated for his fundraising efforts to help vulnerable children facing hunger. Both are doing their part to make the world a little better.
