DEFENDER 75TH LIMITED EDITION CELEBRATES 75 YEARS OF LAND ROVER
Marking a significant milestone of 75 years of Land Rover, Defender has unveiled a highly-collectible 75th Limited Edition in the Defender 90 and Defender 110. With only 75 models available in Australia, this historic moment was celebrated in a collaboration with Aquabumps founder, leading Sydney creative Eugene Tan.
ADVENTURE IN COMPLETE LUXURY
In order to create his stunning portfolio of shots, Eugene headed off in the Defender with his family to Boomerang Beach in NSW. Describing his family as “beach freaks”, Eugene said the Defender spent more time on the sand than on the bitumen, and he was impressed he could fit nine surfboards in the back. After experiencing the Defender in its natural element, Eugene said, “The car indeed championed our love of adventure but in complete luxury. Considered design and intuitive technology meant cruising off-road was even more of a pleasure.”
A TRUE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY ICON
Back in Sydney, select guests were invited to celebrate these two iconic brands at an equally iconic location, Bondi Pavilion at Bondi Beach. The limited edition Defenders were displayed alongside the Defender x Aquabumps photo series, which beautifully bring to life the adventurous, go-anywhere spirit of the Defender.
The motoring press in attendance were full of praise, with Boss Hunting noting that “it takes a true automotive industry icon to make it to 75 years of production”, predicting all 75 vehicles will disappear “very quickly indeed”. Forbes pointed out that while the exterior maintains the classic silhouette “it’s the interior’s premium aesthetic where you can truly appreciate just how far the car has come in recent years, headlined by Land Rover’s user-friendly Pivi Pro infotainment system, sliding panoramic sunroof, heated electric memory seats, heated steering wheel and seats finished in Resist Ebony – to name a few”.
POWERED BY INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
All Australian 75th Limited Edition Defenders are equipped with the powerful and efficient P400 3.0L six-cylinder 294kW Ingenium petrol engine. This advanced engine utilises Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology to optimise power delivery and fuel economy by harnessing energy normally lost under deceleration and braking. The 75th Limited Edition also features an impressive list of standard equipment and innovative technology, including 3D Surround Camera, Configurable Terrain Response, Meridian Sound System, Head-Up Display and Wireless Device Charger.
