Range Rover Evoque delved into the heart of urban inspiration with "Shaped By The City" campaign. Collaborating with influential leaders across various creative fields, the campaign showcases how the city has moulded their unique perspectives and how Range Rover Evoque seamlessly integrates into their lives.
At the forefront of this campaign were three creative mavericks: Georgina Jeffries, a renowned interior designer, and Sophie Coote and Nikki Campbell, the dynamic duo behind the fashion label SIR The Label. Q&A WITH GEORGINA
What inspired you to collaborate with Range Rover?
Growing up, I was fortunate enough to spend camping holidays on the Murray River with my family. It was here, on country farms I learnt to drive sitting on my father’s lap in our 1989 Range Rover Classic. For me, the luxury of Range Rover is found in the memories made, and the relationships nurtured. Range Rover as a brand represents the ultimate design icon, and to collaborate with them is a dream.
How do you seek inspiration in your work?
Inspiration comes from so many places. An old movie, a fashion parade, a flooring detail sighted on a European trip or the city around me. It can start anywhere. We explore the site of our project, its surroundings and the history of the place. We have so many points of research that lead us down a winding path and it’s the most exciting part of our job creating narratives around the design and giving spaces new meaning and life.
What is your interior design style?
I’m not sure I have a particular style, but rather a set of values and beliefs that guide our design process. Our practice is anchored by a belief in the emotional capacity of design to enhance liveability, and from this knowledge grows a language that echoes this into a built form. We are inspired by classic forms and a balance of light and symmetry that ultimately prioritising the human experience.
My design goals for our practice is always to deliver honest and nurturing spaces that elevate daily life. I design houses to live in, houses that elicit joy and if we can do that, I’ve done my job.
What trend are your clients requesting the most at the moment?
Our clients are generally very aligned with our values in not following trends, but rather building on traditional methods to create spaces that are timeless. There are current trends that align with our aesthetic which can also be a comfort for clients to see something done before, and right now we are seeing a lot of metallic, stainless steel and chrome finishes together with softer beige palettes.
