As fires and floods struck Australia over the festive season, the true value of the longstanding partnership between Defender and the Australian Red Cross, now spanning over a decade, came to the spotlight. In a time of need and vulnerability, strength and integrity prevailed to offer victims of record-breaking floods and bushfires following Cyclone Jasper.

To add holiday cheer in a time of need, the Australian Red Cross proudly partnered with Qantas over Christmas to brighten the spirits of the impacted children.

The QantasLink ‘Dasher 8’ landed in Miles, Queensland, with Christmas gifts donated by Qantas staff and Trauma Teddies hand-knitted by Red Cross volunteers.

With the unmatched capability of Defender, going further and beyond in the most daunting territory, presents were delivered by our Emergency Services teams in Tara, where bushfires destroyed 56 homes and took the lives of two people in October.

Defender has been integral and will continue to be at the forefront of relief efforts and support Red Cross activity in Australia - reaching the most remote and rural communities when disaster strikes.
