In celebration of the Red Cross 110^th Anniversary, we reflect on a remarkable journey of compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes. This enduring alliance stands as one of the longest-standing charity partnerships of its kind in the world.

The partnership's roots trace back to 1954 when the first Series Land Rover entered service with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. From the deserts of Dubai to the forest villages of Kenya, these iconic vehicles have been at the forefront of humanitarian efforts, providing vital assistance in some of the most challenging conditions.

Over the past seven decades, the Defender-Red Cross partnership has positively impacted the lives of over two million people in more than 50 countries. Together, they have responded to natural disasters, conflicts, and health crises, delivering essential aid and support to vulnerable communities.

In celebration of its 110^th anniversary, Red Cross Australia illuminated major Australia landmarks in red, including Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park. Land Rover showrooms joined the commemoration, lighting up their spaces in red as well, symbolising the unity and strength of their partnership. 

To mark this historic anniversary, Defender has launched a flagship project in Italy, the birthplace of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement 160 years ago. A specially equipped Defender 130 emergency response vehicle has been donated to the Italian Red Cross, providing vital support in disaster-stricken areas.

Beyond Italy, the partnership has extended its reach to various regions, including Australia, Nepal, Switzerland, and Morocco. Defender and the Red Cross have collaborated on projects such as disaster relief, community development, search and rescue operations, and humanitarian aid in these countries.
